| Joe Vallone donated this statue which belonged to his Grandmother, Ninfa Travo. The statue is of Saint Mother Cabrini (the 1st Italian-American Saint and Patron of Immigrants). At the base of the statue (not easily seen in the picture) are the words “Blessed Mother Cabrini”,which hints that the statue is almost 120 years old (she is referred as “Blessed” which precedes the “Saint” decree upon canonization). The Vallone's presented the statue to Father Richard Nalepa C.P., Vicar of the Immaculate Conception Monastery - Jamaica, Queens, NY, to the entire Monastery Community on December 26, 2009. Nick Papallo is in Monastery-residence as well as being our Chaplain of the Fr.John Papallo Lodge. The statue will be venerated annually on the Feast of the Sainthood of Mother Cabrini. |
